All the ladies at work keep coming by to look. LOL LOL

FI thought it would be a good idea especially since we are thinking of doing our own flowers.

ETA: The purple roses from proflowers.com are much more purple. These look a bit pink to me. I will post pics later.

They arrived today as scheduled and I have them all in vases right now. I took them out and cut the stems as the directions state. I cut the stems on 11 of them way more than the others since I had to put them in a bubble bowl vase - ran out of vases for 100 roses. LOL 8 of the 11 are open already. I suspect this is the case since the water has less of a stem to travel through?

Not all of them have opened up but so far the ones that have opened are very pretty.

About 35 of them are open now. I suspect they will all be open by tomorrow morning.

I will report back then. I guess they would normally arrive 2 - 3 days before the wedding ??? Hopefully they are all open in 3 days.

ETA - photos of farmdirect.com roses day one

Katrina-
Those are so nice! Yes, the water has shorter stem to flow up thru, do they open quicker. The ones in the bubble bowl look great!!

Those are lovely!!

If you can find a way to keep them cold - they won't open so fast. Got an extra 'fridge around??

LOL

My office is freezing so that should do it. It's amazing to me that they keep it so cold. The bill must be outrageous!!!

All except 3 of them are open now. The 3 that are not open yet are fairly tightly closed. I will give them one more day before I toss them. The other 97 purple roses opened nicely.

They look a little brown around the edges. Did you pull off the outer layer? My SIL works for a florist in PA and said that you always have to take the outer layer off. They might look better then.

I ordered roses for my RD from 2G roses and they were amazing! So perfect and they lived for 2 weeks!

Wow! Look at all the flowers on your desk...love it!

Yes you need to take off the outside petals. They are called retaining petals. When you first receive them you need to take off the outer layer of petals and that allows them to open up beautifully.

Hi ladies,

No, I did not remove all the outer petals. I took most of them off this afternoon though. My coworker told me that I had to do it.
