(repost from the o5 board) ladies i need your help...(sorry so long)
ladies i need words of advice, words of encouragement, anything you may have to offer me i am willing to listen. FH and I booked with our catering house back in march, after looking at several places we picked the one we are currently having our wedding at because it had worked best for us. Well here we are in oct and I basically feel the more and more I hear about them that food and service is great, but dealing with these people is just not easy and I have come across a few things they said would be true but are not. Can they be fixed??? FM me if you want the specifics. I am not bad mouthing anyone just very nervous about how am I going to resovle these things, which again can only be something i am annoyed at. Fh is livet and wants to cancel. this place is in suffolk county so I heard this may be a possibility but then again they have our money and do you think they are going to give it to us w/o a problem??? i dont know..any ideas?

Before you try to get out of your contract, sit down and make a list of things that are wrong, or aren't as promised. Give as much detail about each thing and what you feel they could do to rectify the problem. Look into getting out of your contract, and if you can, use that as a bargaining tool. Go to meet with your BM and tell him/her everything. Then give them your list. Tell them that if these problems are not addressed and handled, then you will be canceling.
