So.. I had my first makeup trial..

So.. I had my first makeup trial..
I wasn't that impressed.. I mean my eyes came out gorgeous but a bit much for a bride IMO. FH said it looked a little 'clubbish' looking- not the look I am going for. It didn't look like me.. I was a little disappointed. I did say that I wanted my eyes to stand out but I guess what I had imagined it to be is not what the makeup artist envisioned. In pictures, it looks nice but in person, it just looks like too much. I had a lot of foundation on and not enough cheek color.I don't know if I should call her and explain to her how I feel or do I just go to other trials with different artists? I want a natural look with a little bit of 'wow'. I know this now and didn't communicate this clearly yesterday. In all honesty, I like the way I do my own makep better than what was done at the trial. I am just afraid of not having a good makeup day the day of my wedding if I end up doing it. I don't want to chance it.
Any advise would be greatly appreciated.
TIA

Re: So.. I had my first makeup trial..
I had the same reaction, it didnt look like me at all- too harsh and my FH hated it. So now Im looking to book more. Im disappointed b/c its a vendor everyone on here raves about- but no luck for me. The makeup started to bloch and it was burning- I had to wash off right away and I got a rash on my cheek. When I got home not even an hour after it was done, the makeup foundation was breaking up it looked terrible something out of halloween.

Oh god, I'm having the same problem right now!!!!!!!!!! That's exactly what I want - a natural look with some glow and focus on the eyes. Essentially, I want no stress bride's makeup! Who was your trial with?

FM me , she is really sweet and I dont want to put her name out there, since others had such a difference experience with her.

Re: So.. I had my first makeup trial..
I wound up going through fashion magazines to find a look I wanted. I brought the pictures to the 2 trials I went on...I wanted a clean, natural, old-Hollywood-glam look. The first person - while very sweet and somewhat popular on the boards - wound up going in a completely different direction and after looking more carefully at pics of other trials she did, she 'painted' me the same way she does everyone else.
The second person - who I wound up booking on the spot, also very popular on here - listened to what I had to say and created the exact look I wanted.
I would look for pictures to bring - that's sometimes easier than trying to just verbally convey what you want - and go for another trial.

I had the same problem. It took me 4 trials until I found someone. You really have to let them know what you want. Keep trying you will find someone.

Re: So.. I had my first makeup trial..
No one should settle. I went to 5 trials and never settled. Everyone has different tastes and envisions themselves differently. Sometimes it is hard to express exactly what you want. Good Luck Girls
