making a digital pic into a card

I have a digital picture that I want to make into a thank you card for my wedding - I want a foldover card - 'hallmark' style - my photographer charges $1.50 a card to make them - I think that price is high - does anyone know where else I can get these made..??

Re: making a digital pic into a card

Check online photo stores like shutterfly and ofoto. They have lots of sales to bring the price down. But 1.50 doesn't sound that expensive for a custom card - hallmark cards are generally more then that.

Re: making a digital pic into a card

Do you have any software on your computer that you can use? I know a lot of digi cams come with photo imaging software now - the one that came with ours has a whole section on making cards out of your pics. It's probably less expensive to do it yourself if you can - I'm a shutterfly member, and they want over $2 per card for 1-9 copies!!!

ETA - it's less expensive the more you order - here's the prices, just to clarify :)

1-9 $2.49
10-20 $2.19
21-50 $1.79
51-100 $1.59
101+ $1.49

Re: making a digital pic into a card

My cards were $3.50 from my photographer so $1.50 doesn't seem high at all ...

Re: making a digital pic into a card

I did mine through shutterfly and they were so cheap! I didn't do the 5x7 cards that someone posted above...I did the 3x5 standard notecard size...I thought that was a nicer card size..

Anyway...it was very easy to do and they came out great!!

Re: making a digital pic into a card

Shutterfly does them I think for something like $1.25. I also made my engagement announcements and engagement thank yous with photos on the front. I didn't use photo paper. I used regular card stock because I didn't need it to be photo quality. Staples does sell photo quality card stock, so it would be chepaer to do it at home, but you'd need to make sure you have a printer that cna print the quality you want. Also check out local print shops and or staples/kinkos
