NWR---URGENT!! RESCUE DOGGIE NEEDS A HOME!!!

Sorry to post this here....but I've only gotten two responses from the Pet section. I know I'm supposed to stick to wedding stuff here, but this little guy really needs a great new home soon!!! I'm beginning to get attached and REALLY can't keep him. With three jobs and grad school full-time, it's a bit too much.


Hi all....I figured this would be the best place to post this, with hopes that someone will have a big enough heart to take this boy into their home.

Nelson's Story

I have also attached some recent pictures of him......he is such a great doggie. He defies every Chow stereotype. He LOVES everyone, takes his medicine like a champ (he gets one pill in the morning, and one at night), hasn't shown any signs of aggression or stubborness, LOVES car rides, and looks wonderful. He doesn't jump on anything, and has the cutest way of sitting on his butt with his front legs up in the air. His wounds have completely healed and his hair is growing back rapidly. Anybody that can find room in their heart and home for him will be truly happy with this doggie. His medicine is $15/month and is the easiest doggie to take care of. He is completely housebroken, doesn't chew on anything, and only barks when the neighbor's dog is talking to him. Please ask around if you can't take him yourself. I do a background check on all adoptees and will make sure he only goes to a WONDERFUL home that is full of love and has sincere compassion for animals. Thanks!!!

I can open my heart, I just wish I could open my home. We live in a basement apartment with no windows. Thats no place for a dog. i will ask around though.

mushgrl.... you said that so nicely!!

i feel the same way. i would love to take him (i would love to take in every stray that i pass)... but i can't have pets in my apartment he looks like such a loveable dog... i will try to ask around!!!

good luck in finding him a happy home--- with all that he's been through, he deserves it!!

my parents won't let me have another doggie till i'm married and move out

we just put our dog to sleep in august but i'm dying for another doggie

i guess i'll have to wait!!

i am heartbroken and so is fh. we wish we could take him but we can't really manage another pooch in our tiny apartment... not to mention that our sophia (a pooch that we adopted from the pound, in similar condition as poor nelson...) isn't so comfortable with dogs that are bigger with her.

i've sent out some emails to a few colleagues who i know are dog lovers. tomorrow i will print out the pics of nelson and take them to my local dog run. if there are any interested parties i will pass on your info!

fm if there is anything more i can do to help.

Thanks SO much ladies.......any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated!!!! His needs are very simple...he just needs his little pill twice a day, otherwise, he's in perfect health. He runs around a bit and is a very happy doggie.

I past on his information. Such a sad sad story...I can't believe that someone would just abandon a dog like him! Ah! My FI's father just adopted a puppy (2 years old) with a similar thyroid infliction and he is such a sweet heart.

I get enraged every time I hear a story about ppl treating animals so poorly. Nichole, you really are a true hero. I have a really large chocolate lab, and I don't even know if we are going to take her with us when we move into our apt, or leave it iwth my parents, since she's so huge and loves to be open and free in our backyard...I wish I could take Nelson, really, I have fowarded this to many ppl. Let us know if you find a loving home for him!!!

I'd love to take him but our schedules wouldn't let us devote enough time to him .

I hope he finds a home he deserves.

WOW! Nelson looks so much better! What a cutie! I wish I could adopt him, but we already have a 125 lb German Shephard who has already outgrown our apartment....

OMG I feel so bad for this dog. I just took in a dog from the street, and she too was a victim of abuse :( I wish I could take him, because I would. I will ask around, definately!!!

Hi all.....I FM'd back. Hopefully we can get this to work out. I can't thank you girls enough for spreading the word for me!!! YOU'RE THE BEST!!!!!!

PS>>No need to feel bad for him anymore---he is doing wonderfully and he's living a very happy life here with me, temporarily, and will find a terrific home to go to. His wounds are all healed and he's actually playing with my doggie now. So, life is good for him. And I can assure that his new 'forever' home will be just as much fun and just as loving!!!
