Pre-Cana: Which did you prefer? The weekend retreat? The once a month meeting??

Hey,
FH and I are trying to decide what type of Pre-Cana we want to sign up to. We can either do:
1) the weekend retreat
2) Meeting once weekly for a month for 2 hours
3)Meeting one day for 6-8 hours


So what did everyone do? How did you like it?

We did it all in one long day. We enjoyed it. It was too hard to do it any other way b/c our schedules were very hectic.

We did it through the diocese. It was a Saturday/Sunday 9-4 thing. Not bad at all.
People have told me that the overnight retreat is rough. One girl told me she had to room with a woman who turned out to be really strange, the plumbing in the building was messed up, etc...definetly NOT for me!

I wish we did not have to do any!! We did the 1 day deal!! was PLENTY for us...living together for 6 years has prepared us for it all!

Our church offered us the weekend retreat with mass at the end. We are supposed to do it in February.

We're doing the once a week thing. We've been to two so far. We don't think it's too bad. I guess it would be nice to get it done in one day though.

My pastor reccommends the one day a night pre-cana because he says that it gives the couple more time to think about it... But I think the weekend trip might be fun, you know like a little weekend get-away. Am I completely off track here?

We did a Friday night for 3 hours and then all day Saturday. I really enjoyed Pre-Cana and I didn't have to worry about the commitment every week.

I wish I had those choices. If I did, I would pick the one long day just to get it over with.

We had to go on Sunday nights from 7-9 for 6 weeks...it wasn't wonderful but it wasn't bad

We are doing the once a week for 4 weeks thing and I like it. It may be a bit too boring if it were ALL day.

One long day! and it was fine!

We are doing it now. It was one meeting on a Sunday at the church for like 2 & 1/2 hours. Then 4 meetings weekly on Friday nights for about 2 hours. Then we have one meeting after a Saturday Mass at the end of the month.

The meetings go fast...we have 6 couples though and the married couple...but its been SO long, I cant wait to have my Friday nights back.

We wanted to do the weekend retreat to get it over with but it was $250.....ours the way we are doing it was $50.

I would if I had a choice do a 6-8 hour thing...it will fly by and then its done!

I was totally not up for the weekend retreat. I fought it all the way. My FH wanted to go. I went. It was the best thing we could have done. It has been the most rewarding time we have had tru all this wedding crap. I am so glad we did it.

we did one day 9 to 5, it wasn't bad!

I had my own room. We did have to share showers. FM me if you want anymore info.

We are not doing the whole day on one weekend only. We have 5 weekends to go for one hour and half and I think we will benefit more from this type of interaction. I couldn't see my FH for a weekend doing this, especially when you have Giants season tickets....

the weekend one was good. We got comfortable with the others in the class and those giving the class. I have had friends who did the once a week for a month one & they didn't like it too much. I would have liked to do it all in one day, but that class filled up too quickly & there was not another one until 3 weeks before my wedding, and my priest thought it might be too close.

EYA: we did a weekend class, not the weekend retreat...that is a supplemental class and not required to get married, if we are talking about the same thing, My weekend class cost $75
