Is it bad that I am not psyched about my gown???

I picked up my gown yesterday and for some reason I wasn't excited abou tit. I don't know if it was cause it was a pain in the neck cause it was in NYC or if it was because the lady is always such a b!@ch, or I am just not blown away by it. does anyone else feel this way?

Re: Is it bad that I am not psyched about my gown???

that sounds alittle scary, maybe you can try it on again and it will give you a better feeling about it. my dress is in the process of being made but i expect tolove it before it's even finished.if i don't before it's done the dress maker and i have to sit down and talk besides who cares if she's a bi*** i'm sure she didn't have a problem taking your money.if once you try it on and you're still not happy call her up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! good luck

Re: Is it bad that I am not psyched about my gown???

Well I have not picked mine up yet. But I tried it on like 5 times before I made a decision on it, and after doing that and looking at pics of it, I am not as excited to talk about it any more. I think sometimes with all the planning and rushing around and spending money, you start to lose the excitement and just want to get it all done. Maybe that is just part of it.

I am sure that day, when you are getting ready and you have the whole ansamble on, you will be in love with your dress again.

Hopefully it is just that you dealt with so much to get your dress. I noticed that the more dresses I tried on, the less enthused I was becoming. Finally ordered my dress - happy about it. I know I'm not going to get the full kick until I see it with my hair done, the veil/tiara or flowers and make up. Hopefully it will hit you then!

Re: Is it bad that I am not psyched about my gown???

I feel like that sometimes. I see so many new dresses and styles and they ALL look gorgeous on the model and I wish I could change gowns throughout the evening like they do at the Academy Awards! HAHA!

But honestly, wedding gowns are MADE to be exquisite, and beautiful. It's really hard to go wrong. Your dress will also look exquisite on you. A bride is a bride and she is what is beautfiul, not just the gown. The person wearing it is what makes it so special.
You will be a gorgeous bride, you will glow on your wedding day and your dress will look EXQUISITE on you...tailored to fit YOU and no one else, PERFECTLY!
Wear it well, girl!

Re: Is it bad that I am not psyched about my gown???

Heck no it's not bad. It's practically extremely normal. The girl that helped me at my bridal store told me to be careful of trying on too many gowns in one day. It's what's known in the industry as going 'snowblind' -- no gown seems to be pretty or special to you. I took her advice and I tried on just a few that day. She brought one out that was so diffrent from the norm I thought she was nuts. She said 'trust me'. I put it on and as soon as I looked in the mirror I was like 'this is it!!!' I didn't try on a single one after that so that I wouldn't change my mind, and I got right out of it so the novelty and the beauty would last.

Re: Is it bad that I am not psyched about my gown???

I tried on so many dresses and the ones I liked in pictures looked terrible on so I had to get something that suited my figure - i love the strapless but i swear it was pushing my boobs up into my neck so I went with a halter top- i havent picked it up yet- not in yet but I look at it in a picture and dont like it. when i had it on i liked it but that was like a month and a half and it was on for like 10 min. so I know exactly what you are going through. Im hoping it will change when the dress comes in and I try it on again.

I know exactly howyou feel. I have been going through this alot lately. I am the type f person who really likes to shop around before making a decision, and I let my mother talk me into getting my dress after only trying a dozen or so on. at the time, I was thrilled and I loved it and cried when I first put it on. But now, I just think its 'Ok' and wish I took more time to look. And the worst part is, since I've been feeling this I keep looking at it and trying it on in stores to make me feel better and I think its making it worse! Cause now I am so used to seeing it and it isn't exciting. Of course I can't get another and I can't tell my mom or she will kill me....it's very upsetting

I'm sorry I can't be much help....but I feel your pain!

OH MAN! You described EXACTLY how I feel to a TEE! I also was influenced by mom and now there's nothing I can do about it. She's paying for my dress. And like you said, trying it on at the store only makes it worse and takes away the 'newness' of the gown....as of now, my dress was discontinued by the manufacturer, so they took the sample off the rack...and now I can't try it on, even if I wanted to...which might be a good thing....
But I know that when I put it on on my wedding day, I will love it all over again...
