I thought I saw a post here about townhouses going up in Oyster Bay

and I asked my friend about it who lives in OB and she said you have to make a combined salary of $86,000 to get it.

Here's my question(s):
If DH was off the books until a month ago, and now w/ new job he is on the books, will a mortgage co. look at just what he made in 2004 or will they say 'well it's a new job so we will take your weekly salary and multiply that by 52 weeks to get your yearly salary' and use *that* figure?

Or.....will they just take my salary into consideration...I make less than $86,000 but if we combine it with DH salary it will be more.

I hope I am making sense. TIA.

They ask for paystubs at your recent job and then determine what you will make for the year.

Re: I thought I saw a post here about townhouses going up in Oyster Bay - article was in Newsday last week

go to newsday.com
on left column (very left) scroll down to 'archives'
then in search box put in

oyster bay affordable housing

The first article should be the one. However you have to pay for the full text. Or just look at the date and if you get Newsday you can check that day's paper or go to your local library and read it there - I'm sure most if not all libraries will keep last week's issues stored.

Re: I thought I saw a post here about townhouses going up in Oyster Bay

Not sure if this is what your talking about, but after you read this article, I don't think you will call it affordable housing!

The housing is only proposed housing that they want to build on the site of the old Hallock Chevorlet dealership. They are going to be studio, 1 and 2-bedroom rentals. Rents for the apartments are for a studio, $1,500; one bedroom apartment, $2,250; two bedroom apartment, $3,000. Here's the article from our local paper (I live near there):
