Hi Girls,

I just got married and moved to NJ. Does anyone live near Baskingridge? I am dying to meet some people...all of my good friends are on Long Island and I miss them big time, but I guess it's time to move on...

There was a NJ GTG planned, but it got postponed....not sure when we will have another one

I think it was postponed to sometime in November.

Yes, I'm still in city, my 'new' commute isn't much longer than what it was from LI and I can officially report that NJ Transit trains are just as filthy and late as LIRR trains.

I live in Dunellen (Middlesex Cty). I have no friends either lol.

I was planning a GTG on 10/15 but not that many people could come. I am trying to get a date on a Friday in November or December - suggestions welcome!

I am in Bergen County (Elmwood Park) but I work in NJ....so no commuting to the city for me :)

Same here. I am still commuting and it's still the same distance. I must say, I love my train station...the little house that you buy tickets in has a coffee/breakfast stand, magazines/books that you can borrow, and best of all I don't have to stand outside in the freezing cold anymore. The trains still stink, are always late, and the commute is soooo much more expensive.

Yes, I do like that concession deal in the heated/air conditioned stationhouse too. That's a mercy. Don't like that there is a 5 year waiting list to get a parking permit.

OMG...5 YEARS!! That is so ridiculous. Well, get this one, I used to pay 25 dollars a year for parking in Syosset. NOW...1 dollar a day. Can't get the yearly pass because by 6:30 in the morning all the spaces are taken!! plus I probably have to wait 5 years for a permit..

I hear ya. TOB charged me $20/year. Now some old lady in a green caravan that cannot crack a smile to save her life much less wish me a good morning, takes $5/day from me to park in a lot that's probably not even hers.

I make DH drop me off!!

All the spots are taken @ 6 a.m.???

I noticed that the train stations in NJ are so much nicer than LI....like someone else said, they have coffee and newspaper stands etc LOL - i dont know, they are just more home-y. Also, have you noticed that the LIRR commuters have to stand at the tracks for the train just like the subway but NJ Transit is not as crowded i dont think because i never see people standing at the tracks, they just board the train. NJ suburbs are like a different world, I love it so much more than LI. (no offense to anyone).

Another gal here who moved to NJ and doesn't have many friends! I'm in Union - not too far from basking ridge actually. Gals- we should meet up at Short Hills Mall!!
