Planning Aug 2005 Watermill Wedding from West Coast...NEED HELP!!
Ladies,Well I must say, I'm definitely impressed with this site from what I've seen so far...and I'm hoping that someone out there can offer me a little bit of advice, and may be some reassurance.
I'm currently living in San Francisco (but from NJ..my FH is from LI), and am trying to plan my Aug wedding at the Watermill from here! Definitely proving alot more difficult than I expected. We will be coming back to the East Coast permanently around end of February and wondered from past (or future) brides out there, is it totally unrealistic of me to think that I can get everything done (ALL vendors (except the hall of course) once I return home?? If so, what vendors should I try and get done first? (Any recommendations would also be helpful..)
Thanks so much!!

hi and welcome
I had a hair trial with The Hair Genie yesterday and I loved it. It might be difficult but I think you could plan the wedding from the west coast.

How long will you be on the East Coast ?Make your appointments well in advance.
Depending on your personality and how you handle the whole wedding process I think you'll be able to do it -
I know right away if I like a vendor or I do not - I'm not one to obsess. -
So I knew the second I met John @ Flowers Michele he was hired. - No need to look anywhere else. (I was personally not at all impressed w/ the photogrpahers or florists recommended by the Watermill)
We saw 3 photogrpahers, all photojournalists. -
Perceptions (who we booked) Patken, (who was also very good and similar in price - we just liked Anthony of Perceptions' work better) and JoVon - Beautiful work, but I did not like the attitude and atmosphere of the place.
The thing that makes it difficult is the driving ALL over LI to get to these vendors in weekend traffic. - And you really do have to sit w/ them to decide if they are a good match for you - Meeting them @ a showcase is not really personal enough ......
If you need any help at all I'm a Watermill bride too (May '05) Send me an FM or an email - I'll help you out any way I can !!

Hi and welcome! I would definitely try to schedule appointments with photographers and bands/DJ's as from what I've seen and heard, those are the two things that book the quickest. Depending on how long you'll be here, and how many vendors you want to meet with, you actually might be able to get everything done. I would definitely start searching online or ask some of the girls on this site for feedback on vendors you want to meet with so that might help to narrow your search before you get here. Good luck! I'm sure you'll be fine!
