Do hair/makeup vendors really book up a year in advance??

I always thought that booking my hair and makeup people and going for trials would be one of the last things that I would do. I am getting the sense now from you ladies that these things book up quicker than I thought!

Is this something I should be looking into by the one year mark so I don't risk people being booked??

TIA!

You should be ok because you are getting married in an off peak month. Then again, that might be when some vendors take vacation. I would get started asap. Chances are you may not like the first one or two makeup trials you have. My hair stylist for 10 plus years is doing mine but I told her right after I got engaged.

I thought the same thing until I started reading that girls were already going to trials and their wedding date was after mine. I started getting nervous so I am starting to schedule some now. My wedding is 8 and 1/2 months away.

I agree that you might have better luck since you're in an off peak month. When I started calling this past August (I'm not getting married til July 05) and heard from some of the more popular makeup artists that they were already booked, I freaked out and made a bunch of appointments for trials. It's never too early I guess!
