Re: Going to a wedding at Westbury Manor tomorrow night . . .
Sorry, I have not been on . . .The wedding overall was wonderful. Some concerns about cocktail hour, just so that you can have a heads up . . .
Let me first say the food was amazing. I loved the eggplant rollatini at cocktail hour and FH thought the veal and pig were excellent. There was not enough seating for everyone at the cocktail hour (there were 200 people). Due to this, many people had to stand and eat. This would ordinarily have been tolerable except there was nowhere to put down the finished plates! So people were putting them down on the brick ledges by the plants, on empty parts of the food displays, as well as their empty drinking glasses.
Everything else was perfect. The flowers were amazing and they used the house florist (I didn't quite get the name of who the house florist is.) The room was gorgeous. I don't know the name of the room I was in, but when leaving cocktail hour, we had to go to the right. (or when passing through the main doors it was on the right once past the bathrooms.) We had to leave after the cutting of the cake unfortunately, since I had school the next morning and had an hour drive to get home, so I didn't have the cake or the Viennese hour.
To back track, dinner was good. The service was very good (although the waiter was not so conscientious about replenishing drinks) My filet mignon was okay, but that is because I got an end piece. Otherwise it would have been delicious. The potato served on the side was twice baked regular and sweet potato layered upon exceeder- very yummy. They had a mesclun salad with portobello mushrooms which was good (except this one white veggie thing in it did not taste good at all- it was white and looked like it had little mushroom heads- FH said it tasted like motor oil- how he knows what motor oil tastes like is beyond me . . .) I heard the duck was good, as well as the rack of lamb.
The room was gorgeous- actually the entire place was gorgeous. I would have definitely considered it for our wedding if it weren't for the fact that FH's sister had her wedding there. It was a great wedding, the Westbury Manor brides do not have anything to worry about (just maybe address those few things I mentioned.)

Re: Going to a wedding at Westbury Manor tomorrow night . . .
Thanks so much for the info! I'm so glad that everything was great, with the expection of those few things. My ch will be outside (weather permitting) so we shouldn't have that problem and I'm having less guests, but I will ask my bm about how many seats there will be.
Thanks again!!
It really puts your mind at ease when other people give it good reviews!

Re: Going to a wedding at Westbury Manor tomorrow night . . .
I agree with the cocktail hour seating. Many of our guests started walking over to the other area for the other cocktail hour to look for seats. The staff told them not to sit there. But remember Manor Room girls you have the library during the cocktail hour too! Even though it was such a gorgeous day for our wedding it helped some people especially the older folks to know they could sit inside there. And then walk around outside when they were done eating. The staff didn't tell them this, but my family did and I think they appreciated it. Just a little tip...
