had my first songram today and we heard the heartbeat!!!

I was suprised that we heard the heart beat becuase Im only 8 weeks 5 days but it was chugging along at a rate of 167 ( what do you think boy or girl?) and the image was so clear and the tech said the baby was moving and we could see the little peanut moving its arm. It was the absolute most amazing experience.

Awww what a cute bean!

I know youve probably heard it before but the heart rate means nothing. From 8 wks to 12 wks the heart rate is going to increase then begin to decrease to what it shall be for most of the remaining pregnancy.

AW what a great sonogram picture!!! Hearing the heart beat for the first time was one of the most amazing experiences for me as well!

I was going to say the same thing. That's one of the best 'early' sono pics I have ever seen! You can make everything out perfectly! It must have been such an incredible experience. It really became 'real' to me when I heard that little washer machine sounding thump-thump-thump going. That there was someone in there.

If I had to guess (based purely on speculation), I'm thinking girl...
