Hawaii--Big Island

Is three nights on the Big Island too much? Is it better to only stay two nights?

We are doing five nights in Maui, and four in Kauai.

Any suggestions?

Re: Hawaii--Big Island

We did 5 nights on Maui and Kauai. If I could do it again, I would do 6 in Maui even though Kauai was my favorite. We didn't go to the big Island, but just remember it takes a lot out of your day to travel from one Island to the next.

Re: Hawaii--Big Island

We spent 2 nights on the Big Island. Although we flew into Hilo, rented a car and saw the Volcano National Park and then drove to Kona, stayed there for 2 nights, then flew out of Kona. It saved us a 4 hour drive one way to fly into one airport and to leave from another. Don't know if you're going to see the Volcanos though. I thought it was enough time. We really just hung out by our hotel pool most of the time but we still saw alot.
