Suggestions for Gift for Single Man in Manhattan -- Somewhere he could meet someone?

Hello all.

I'm looking for recommendations for a holiday gift for my brother. I know that what he wants most is to meet someone. Soooo I was wondering if any of you could think of a gift that could result in him doing so. I was thinking about something along the lines of a cooking class. Have you ever heard of 'singles' classes in cooking or anything else? Or can you suggest something else as a gift that would offer a similar chance to meet someone in a laid back setting?

He is 30. He loves music (plays piano/keyboards) but that seems to be incompatible with conversation! Generally he is easy going and a good sport, so if he thought it would be a fun crowd he could be talked into bowling, karate, just about anything even if it wasn't a past hobby. Are there singles classes for sports?

Gym membership doesn't seem his style -- he works out and is in good shape, but I just can't see him playing the gym dating scene.

If I posted his picture I'd have to admit to him that I've been talking about him online. LOL.

I've found one cooking class so far:
http://kaplan.dialnsa.edu/register/index.cfm?deptcode=NCLS
Its over $300 though with materials (Ouch!), which means I should ask before giving.

The other thing I've found are companies that organize dinners at nice restaurants for groups of 4 women and 4 men:

http://www.singlegourmetny.com/index.html

Have you heard of any of these?

Re: Suggestions for Gift for Single Man in Manhattan -- Somewhere he could meet someone?

The Institute for Culinary Education (West 23rd Street) does great cooking classes and I think I remember hearing something about them starting a singles one. I took a couple classes with friends and with my FH and it was so much fun. I met people and I wasn't a single so I am sure the singles class would be great. They have a website but I am not sure what iti is. It really is a great gift for anyone!
