Playing Music for your Baby...

I'm 21 weeks now and I've been reading that my baby can hear now, so DH & I have been talking to my belly more often. I also heard that playing classical music for your baby while your pregnant is supposed to be very soothing.

I'm just curious how many of you are playing music for your babies??? and what kind of music are you playing (ie: Classical, favorite band/group)?

Re: Playing Music for your Baby...

Its funny i was going to post this ? today. Im entering my 21st week soon and my DH went to barnes and nobles and picked a few books to read to her as well as a cd with baby lullabies on it.

I need to find headphones..(dont know the last time I used a pair ) but I WANT to play xmas music to her b/c its that season and I thought classical and just a bit of everything really (music we listen to) even spanish music! I cant see any of it hurting her?

I only read that classical (ie mozart) makes them smarter but who knows how FATCUAL that is.

So, IMO play her a variety of music and have dh talk/read to her. Your dd/ds is learning your voice but she needs to hear him to

Re: Playing Music for your Baby...

My sister did this. My mom got in her car and my sister usually listens to 'rap crap' but once she found out she was PG she switched her 'image'..Mom turned the key and heard Classical music. She was in shock LOL.
She played music and read to the baby every day and night!
Her baby was born on 10/24 and to get him to stop crying you can play any music or even just sing and he stops and just stares. He's so cute!
