Help with Engagement Party places

Thank you to everyone who responded to my reception hall question.
Now I have an engagement party question. Does anyone know some nice places to have one that are in Nassau county? Somewhere that is not too expensive, but not cheap either. I was thinking of looking at the City Cafe in Garden City and Jonathan's in GCP. Also H.R. Singleton's on Hempstead Trpk. Any thoughts?? Thanks!

Re: Help with Engagement Party places

I think it depends how many people- but, when I was looking around for my RD- I was told:

Coles House
Napa & Sonoma
Waterzooie

And Trattoria Diane - is where I am having my RD.

Re: Help with Engagement Party places

We had ours are Cafe Testarossa in Syosset(is that nassau or suffolk- i always forget)

Well it was perfect- food was great and what I really liked about it was that as guests arrived, we all hung out at the bar (which has plenty of chairs and tables) and then when everyone got there, we moved into the dining area.

It was great to mingle first ---felt like a reception- cocktail hour first then dinner

Im pretty sure its affordable but my in-laws paid for it so im not excatly sure
