Decorating Ideas - Fall Wedding

Since I know there are so many creative people on here, I was hoping to get some ideas for my fall wedding next year. I am looking for some really original ideas with decorating (centerpieces/table cards/church decorations). I did see a really cute idea in a Martha Stewart magazine - using the base of a pumpkin for centerpieces.
I want my wedding to be creative yet very classy.
I am getting married in November at the Fox Hollow if that helps.

I was at a restaurant recently and they used small gourds as individual flower "pots." They used the tiny 4" gourds and cored out a hole in the top/side and put just a few blooms in. That would be a nice accent with votives. Check out illuminations.com too - they have some nice seasonal looks with floating candles and fake flowers / leaves floating in water - pricy, but good for ideas.

margaret, i got married 3 weeks ago and had a fall theme going (wasn't really planning on it, but it just happened). for my invitations (that i made myself), i used a picture of fall leaves and printed them on ivory cardstock and then had a vellum overlay with the text and tied together with a ribbon. at the reception, the centerpieces were really tall stemmed mums of all different colors (yellow, orange, cranberry, etc... one color per table) and were in a square terra cotta pot. then there were little pumpkins around them with votives everywhere. it looked amazing.. my florist did a great job!!! all my guest are soooo creative.. they saw those little pumpkins and had to make little jackolanters! too cute. we got some really cute pictures from a friend yesterday and i was impressed by everyone's carving abilities! my bridesmaids all wore deep cranberry colored dresses and the cake was decorated with flowers from my bouquet and a cranberry ribbon. i was very pleased with the overall effect. if you have any other questions, let me know. -leighann

I am getting married 9/23/01 and am also having a fall themed wedding. I love all the warm autumn colors and really wanted to incorporate them into my wedding. I just met with Jennifer from Petals and Ink this week (I think she is the same person Leighann used)and she had some really good ideas. I am going to take some pictures of the fall leaves before they are all gone so that I remember what colors I wanted things to be. Have fun!!

My maid of honor is instistant that she have a different dress than the other 4 girls in my party. She wants to have a whole different color. I am not at all keen on the idea. Honestly, I think the only one who should look "different" IS ME! I suggested that I just get her a bigger bouquet. She kinda pouted at this. Can anyone suggest any other ways (that aren't overbearing) to distinguish my MOH????

Thanks for the positive comments - you've calmed my jitters a bit. We're using Tom's partner Anthony next April, and I was starting to get a little nervous after the few problems that have been posted. I hope he's as good as others have said Tom is.

Sometime ago there was some discussion about this place that does favors on Long Island called the Lighting Bug...has anyone used them or been to the store? The person that posted about it raved about the creative fall themes.
