Nice lounge/bar in city

Anyone know of a nice lounge or upscale bar in the city with good atmosphere and appetizers for an informal engagement celebration?

I think Kanvas on 9th and 23rd does private parties downstairs-- it's a nice lounge.

Anyone else know of a bar/lounge that rents out rooms for parties in the city?

Congrats on your engagement!

I went to an informal type engagement party last year at Union Bar...it's on Park Ave South and 17th, or 18th-ish...
They blocked off the back room/area and had waiters coming around with appetizers....it was very nice, yet low key. Nice ambiance too...sort of a dim, lounge-y feel....

hmm...30 maybe? I think they might also have larger rooms downstairs as well....
