I'm sorry I put 7:30 but it's really 7:00 but I extended it 1/2 hour in case people are late they don't have to feel rushed.

8pm for me and that is so no one is rushing and can get there on time. Its actually a 7:30 invite so if they do arrive early they can start the CH right away.

I'm having my CH starting at 6:30, our church is at 4pm; 30 minute ceremony, 15 min drive to reception hall, 5-10 min drive from the hotels to reception site. Most will be from OOT, so we will probably have a 'hospitality' room in between...

Mine is starting at 8, which gives people who aren't coming to the church, plenty of time to get home and get ready.

We started ours at 8
We were married at the hall. The invitation was for 7, but the ceremony didn't start until 7.30... we served cookies and champagned while people waited.

Ours is starting at 6:30, because we figured if we chose our place based a lot on the gorgeous view of the L.I. Sound, especially at sunset, we wanted to see the damn sunset and enjoy the view for awhile.

If someone can't get there until later, that's fine too. We figure we're only getting married once, we want to do it how we want to. If people are close (emotionally, not necessarily geographically) to us, they'll be there if they can.

I know in the reverse situation, if I was close to someone, I would be there regardless of what time it was.

We are starting ours at 8 because of traffic. It is Columbus Day weekend and a Friday = lots of traffic. I figure the later the better.

when my sister got married she had hers at 7:30 till 9it was an hour and a half coktail due to it being a friday it gave more people time to get there and was not a rush it was nice.
