Anyone else getting married in a BIG room with not a million guests??
Trying to think of ways to make the room seems more intamite. Besides putting candles everywhere. The ballroom supposedly holds 400 ( I think thats pushing it) and we are only going to have around 150.
Maybe I will do some tables of 8 but I am afraid if there are some no shows that table would look empty?? plus it will cost me alot more in centerpieces.
Anyone have any other ideas? TIA

Can they spread the tables out a bit more...have them farther apart from each other?

I have the big room alsothats a good idea keeping the tables away from the DJ speakers. Really we should have gotten the smaller room upstairs ... we have always known that but we just fell in love with the big ballroom and that was the main attraction for us. I am also getting nervous b/c the dance floor is SOOOOOOOOO big. Im afraid even if everyone is up and dancing ( odds of that are slim to none) that the floor will look empty
Here is a pic of the room:

i think u'll be fine....just encourage ur bridal party to keep dancing....my thoughts are if they're not and ur not dont expect ur guests too
and if u have enuff space away from the speakers...u'll be ok.

Re: Anyone else getting married in a BIG room with not a million guests??
I have the same problem...Ive decided to just spread out the tables a little more than usual (not too much where it would look riduculous) so guest dont have to squeeze past tables to get to the dance floor. And also if there are extra rooms on the sides I might see if I can get the little cocktail hour tables put up with candles etc...for people who want to get away and talk away from the noise of the dj,

some halls have sofas that they can put in the corners of your room. Its neat because it gives it a lounge feel and guests can hang out there.
