Girls...I REALLY need your help- hair/makeup (Updated, 1/14)

I'm very upset (again- why do bad things keep happening to my wedding this week? )

I just got a call from the man who I was using for hair/ makeup for my wedding. I was recommended to him a few years ago for a party and have used him several times...and loved the way he did my hair/ makeup (very natural makeup- hair was always great, always stayed in place with MINIMAL bobby pins). So, it turns out he has decided to retire. While I'm very happy for him, now I'm freaking out. Last time I had to get my hair/ makeup done somewhere else (he was booked) I went to Maximus- and I look like a clown in those photos. Where should I go?

Call Jillian from Gorgeous Faces - she is wonderful! And she works with Sarah Rock for hair. They are both great - do a search on here and you'll see pics from lots of brides...

I'm using Michael from the Jewel Box. He does hair and makeup and will come to you. He's pricey but worth every penny.

who'd you use at Maximus? I went to Michele for my e-pics and she is goign to do me for my RD.. I don't wear a ton of make-up and I really liked what she did.

Thanks girls for your help...I got a bunch of FM and now I have a lot of calls to make. I wish I could tell you who I used at Maximus, but to be completely honest I have no idea. I had only been there one other time (just for a hair cut), but we (my FSIL & I) made appointments for hair and makeup there kind of last minute for my cousin's bat mitzvah (b/c it's close to the Garden City Hotel, where the party was). FSIL has used them prior to that for hair/ makeup and it came out great...but for whatever reason, it just didn't come out good- it looks like i'm wearing a TON of makeup in the pictures.

As for asking my hair/ makeup guy for recommendations...I did- but the people he gave me were already booked.

Thanks again girls...I'll keep you posted...and if anyone else has anymore recommendations, I'll take them all!

I just wanted to say thank you to everybody who gave me names of new hair/makeup people. I've been freaking out about having to go for a million trials. Today, however, I got in touch with my old hair dresser who I used for every major event before I moved- she did my hair for my sweet 16, senior banquet, all of the proms I went to... I felt a little awkward, b/c I haven't gone to her in a few years, but she was soooo sweet, and she promised that I'll have a trial and she'll do my hair all night until we figure out how I want it. Also, she works with someone for makeup- so I'm setting up a trial with her. I'm much happier now

You girls are the best!

OMG how awesome is that?! If you end up going with her she'll be so happy --- to see you grow up like that. So perfect!
