Desperately Need Help w/ Ideas for FAVORS

I am leaning toward Godiva Chocolate, but my mom is all in a huff b/c they won't be 'personalized' from my wedding. - People will just eat the chocolate and that's it.........
I personally don't want to give out a dust collector, and I don't want anything big and intrusive on the tables (I'd LOVE to do full size bottles of wine.......but I don't want 6 extra wine bottles on the table)
ANY Ideas ?? THANKS !!

Re: Desperately Need Help w/ Ideas for FAVORS

We are doing the full sized bottles of wine but arent putting them on the tables. We will have a table at the hall set up with them and then hand them out at the end of the night as people leave. Its a little annoying but more personal I thinkk. We have the same taste b/c I also loved the godiva idea!

Re: Desperately Need Help w/ Ideas for FAVORS

God Bless You for having the patience to hand out all of those favors !! I could NEVER !!
Do you think the Godiva is too impersonal ?
I was thinking of making small labels to attach to the boxes w/ our monogram.......

Re: Desperately Need Help w/ Ideas for FAVORS

We were going to do full size bottles of wine but were also concerned about having bottles all over the tables. A favor table is a great idea, as long as you have someone responsible enough to make sure to hand them out at the end, and to people who leave early.

I'm right there with you about not giving out dust collectors. I never know what to do w/ favors unless they're drinkable or edible. We decided on dontation favors in the end.

I definitely don't think Godiva is too impersonal. The labels are a great idea.

Re: Desperately Need Help w/ Ideas for FAVORS

The Donation is a great idea too - Do you mind my asking how you decided on your charity ? FH is a hospital administrator so he is reluctant to give to certain charities b/c he knows first hand some have extremely high administration costs so only a small protion of your donation actually goes to where YOU intended........
Is there any way I can research that ?

I agree Godiva is definitly not impersonal and I think putting your monogram on it will look sooo great!!!!

If you dont want to hand them all out im sure you can arrange for someone at your hall to hand them out as people leave the ballroom (??) just an idea.

I am with you girls on the dust collectors.. I refuse to give them out!

I think Godiva chocolates with little labels sounds great! Do you have a theme in mind for your wedding overall?

Re: Desperately Need Help w/ Ideas for FAVORS

No I don't really have a theme. - Everything is just very rich and regal looking. - The Watermill has all of that deep wood moldings and warm colors.......Black strapless BM gowns, bright red/black magic roses for the BM bouquets and the centerpieces, lots of candles, my mom's gown is this grand black ballgown w/ a great ballero jacket w/ a high collar....my gown is a very traditional silk ballgown. - I thought the gold of the Godiva boxes would look good w/ the deep red flowres on the tables !! haha (Besides the fact that everyone loves Godiva !!)

You can probably research it at the Better Business Bureau - they have a charities page. Also - www.guidestar.org - most of the charities on there have sound biz practices.

I think the godiva would be awsome!!!!!! And something you can add almonds on top of if you wanted ( unlike the wine favors that my fmil is still having a heart attack over)

Re: Desperately Need Help w/ Ideas for FAVORS

I wanted to do Godiva and people didn't like them for the same reason. I'll probably do them anyway the ribbon will have our names on it, they can keep that.

Re: Desperately Need Help w/ Ideas for FAVORS

I like the Godiva idea a lot! Cant you have a gift table? For the wine? I LOVE that idea..would LOVE to get it and would give it if I had the extra $$$. Did you completly rule out half size wine bottles?

What are you doing for place cards? I saw a great picture( no idea where) of wine bottle place cards, so guests carry them and while they may place them on the table, they dont have that cluttered look when the first look at the tables when they walk in, and by the time they put them on the table, they will forget about anything looking 'cluttered'

Good luck!
