when stars get married do they change their last name to their husbands or do you think they keep their maiden name?

the one i have seen was Cortney Cox Arquette ..

i wonder that too. plus, for those who changed their names, do they keep their real names in real life or their stage names? intersting. there is jada pinkett smith. meredith baxter birney (she then dropped the birney) too.

Well Demi Moore actually uses her first husband's last name ...

And I think I remember reading Mrs Pitt does go by that other than professionally.

well i remember seeing that when jennifer lopez was married for the first time, it showed on the marriage certificate Jennifer Noa but of course publicly she didn't change it.

I saw Britney on the E channel saying that she legally changed her name to Britney Spears Federline. Although she uses Spears professionally.

One other that I know of is Pam Anderson...Lee...Anderson...Lee

I always wondered about Jessica Simpson, she seems like such a romantic I would think legally she changed her name to Lachey but uses Simpson?

Her legal name is Jennifer Pitt but for movies and tv she goes by Jennifer Anniston. I have no idea why she just didn't become Anniston-Pitt.

Edited to say: If you look at the track record of celebrity marriages, a good majority of them don't last. (Well the ones that always make the tabloids anyway!) Maybe they're making things easier for themselves by keeping their own last name in case they get a divorce.

I think most keep their names for their careers. When they are not doing things they are known by they're married name...I heard this about Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston...to her friends and family she is Jennifer Pitt
