Re: Working from home/making extra money...
Shana - you should really send your resume to MCI just for the hell of it. I mean, I won't get a referral bonus if you get hired
but Alpharetta is one of the corporate hubs and there are a lot of stable opps there where you could have great benefits and pretty decent salary.(I know this is not a work from home suggestion
)

don't laugh but my sister is a stay at home mom that sells AVON she actually makes really good money from it. she is the type of sales person who does not let you leave without buying something
me on the other hand lol i sell avon also i started after i got engaged just so i can pay off bills. i made very good money in the begining. but now that i have been doing it for a while i do not make a dime lol
the money that i make i buy avon products for myself lol a new thing comes out and i buy .
the good thing about it is-if you dont buy yourself too much stuff you're costumers actually pay for what you by yourself ..
its fun to ..and i am my own manager lol
and if you make under 6000 for the year you dont have to claim it on your taxes lol

Hmmm.....possibility....I live in an apt complex, so doing catalogs could be easy! And I hardly wear make up myself...so spending money isn't really an issue...
how do I get started?

Re: Working from home/making extra money...
I see the 'work from home?' thread on these boards at least once a month.Haven't seen a decent answer yet.
The Mary Kay stuff only works if you know a lot of people... or are willing to work outside your home (travelling to clients). Since you are leaving your house... that defeats the purpose of a work at home job. The only way around this is if you are one of those people that 'knows the entire neighborhood'. But since you are new down there... that wouldn't be the case.
If you are good with crafts... that can help... but lets face it. No home job will replace the type of income you would get working full-time.
I would start looking for a new job before the times get worse.

Re: Working from home/making extra money...
Oh and my sister I think makes a lot of cash selling on ebay. But in order to make decent money... you need to be able to move a lot of volume. She was a power seller last time I checked. You have to sell TONS to get that type of status.

I am not sure. I think she was doing My Little Pony crafts/alterations.
I know she has a NY state licence to legally collect tax on her auctions. She means business. LOL

Re: Working from home/making extra money...
Instead of Avon, why don't you do girly parties (it's the nicest way I can phrase it.) I believe the company name is Fantasia and you can make a killing! My friends and I have had about 5 parties amongst all of us and we always use the same salegirl. She said that she makes hundreds for each party and has won stuff like jewelry and trips from her company.Just to give you a little more info about the parties... the parties are strictly for woman and the host usually has drinks and apps. The party has two parts. The first part is different types of body lotions, powders, scented candles, lingerie, massage oils, lubricants, instructional videos, etc... — the tame stuff. Then everyone takes a break and the woman usually have a nice buzz by this point, so they are relaxed enough to not be embarrassed by part two. Now here comes the fun stuff. There's a full array of vibrators and assorted toys, games and accessories.
and everything through the whole party is passed around so everyone can 'taste' the edible stuff and get a 'feel' for the other goodies. If I remember correctly, the salesperson gets like 5% of the total sales and the party host gets a a percentage of the total sales to buy whatever products they want. It's a win-win situation and I'm yet to see this girl not book another party at one she was hosting.
