ovulation sticks question

Ok, I have been using the sticks since day 9 and today is day 16 and really did not notice such a difference in my line vs the reference line. For those of you who have used these sticks, did you notice a dark line like the reference line? Maybe I am looking for a darker line than should be there. Todays line was a little bit darker than the past days.

I just got a surge and both the surge line and reference line were the same shade.

It has to be as dark as or darker than the reference line.

Do you have irregular or long cycles? Or short cycles and you possibly missed it?

do you chart your temp, CF or CP as well? That might help you figure out a bit too.
