Curly girls--any of you wear/wearing your hair down & straight for the wedding?

I have long, curly hair which I never wear down unless it's straight but then I obsess about it being frizzy for the rest of the day. FH would really like me to wear it down for the wedding but I'm not sure how well it would hold up. Is anyone doing this? Any hair trial or day of pics to show how it came out? I just don't want my hair to look fried. Thanks!

I have the same problem so I'm debating on what to do. I think I might try a half up half down look. I think with all the hair spray that will be in our hair it won't move anyway or have a chance to frizz!!

are you getting your hair done? When my stylist does my hair she works magic and makes it stay put and not frizz.

I am not sure. I might use my natural curl & have them go over it w/ an iron to smooth the curls a bit. The other option is to have it blown out straight then set. I want curls in my hair, but like you, am concerned about frizz. That is why I'm going to have them either use an iron or set it. I'm sure the stylist will make it look great so it does not have a chance to frizz. I just want to look like myself, not 'fake' looking.

Mine is naturally curly, but the hairdresser curled my hair with a curling iron to get a more 'uniform' look. My curls are naturally all different, some are spirals, other are looser curls.

But, I really danced A LOT! By the end of the night, the hair that was near my skin got frizzy. but, I know that if I had tried to wear it straight, it would have been a complete nightmare.

That's the problem I have wth my crazy curls. I'm having my regular girl do my hair so she's knows how it is and she's done my hair for a few things now soI have plenty of faith in her.

I'm debating getting that Japanese straightening done, but I'm worried because I've been lightening my hair (it's naturally dark blonde but I've had it light ash blonde for the longest time). Maybe I can test out the straight hair at a few trials. I'm definitely hiring someone to do my hair because that is one stress I do not need on the wedding day!

If you have very curly hair - Leave it ALONE !! Do NOT try to wear it straight and DOWN - It will be a disaster and you don't want to have to worry about it. - Even the BEST stylist has NO control over what your hair will do once you walk out of the salon !!! Trust me I know !!! If you want to straighen it , what about putting it up ? But loosely ?? -

Re: Curly girls--any of you wear/wearing your hair down & straight for the wedding?

Be VERY cautious wearing your hair straightend and all down on your wedding..espeically since it is in JULY. You do not wnat to stress all day long...I would let the stylist blow it out and recurl it so its 'uniform'

But being its July, the back of your neck will probally sweat if its down, and it will cause it to frizxzz. All of the hairspray in the world will not stop it from frizzing...

I ahve naturally curly hair and have found the all up or 1/2up, half down works best...had my hair blown out and then recurled for my wedding...

Re: Curly girls--any of you wear/wearing your hair down & straight for the wedding?

you may not even need the initial blow out. My hair dresser just started curling my hair and it looked great! We tried to minimize as many steps as possible. I figured that if we blew it out and then recurled it, the curls may loosen and fall flat.

I'm getting married in August and I'm taking no chances...I have been getting the japanesse straightening done for two years now and plan on going in the middle of july to ensure no frizz for the wedding.

Jennie

I have the answers to all your problems LOL! LOL! Her name is Farrah and she is absolutely amazing with curly hair- she really understands the texture and frizz factor and I would be lost without her- I have really thick curly Italian hair also. She's in Patchogue though is that to far out for you?

Here's a pic from our EParty sorry they're a little dark- she's great at up or down! ETA-those were roses in my hair.

Re: Curly girls--any of you wear/wearing your hair down & straight for the wedding?

i have curly hair and thought about it straight but we got married in august and i didn't know how my hair would fare should there have been any humidity. therefore, i went curly and up...(you can see it in my profile photo). it is a natural do, nothing too precise.

Re: Curly girls--any of you wear/wearing your hair down & straight for the wedding?

I have very curly hair, but my fiance loves it straight, so straight it shall be on the big day-- or at very least, I will have long waves as opposed to the corkscrew curls that God gave me ;) i am leaning toward leaving it down but may go 1/2 up, 1/2 down. We'll see after the trial...

I had to blow my hair straight when I did A Chorus Line last year. I danced my butt off in that show and didn't have much of a problem frizzing up as long as I used the iron as well as the blow drier.

I've heard that biosilk is a must for people who straighten their hair. I haven't tried it yet, but I plan on it.

I've heard mixed reviews on the chemical straightening. FI really wants me to do it, but my hair grows so slowly that I am afraid that if I do it, it will be years before I see curls again!

Good luck-- I will think frizz-free thoughts for both of us!

Re: Curly girls--any of you wear/wearing your hair down & straight for the wedding?

Im leaning towards 1/2 up, 1/2 down as well. Its curly but manigible.
Im in April so hoping not too much to worry about as far as frizz.
Still searching for that right hair do.
