We are back in NYC!!!!! FI, my dad & I went to see the progress on the house I'm having built in VA.

Timeless Elegance Collection

I am having the 'Arlington' home built - house pictured at the top right of the link - 2 story house.

We don't ever plan to live in the house though. It's just a favor to my friend who is a general contractor. He needed someone to buy a lot in the development and use him to build their house so he can become a preferred builder for the development. He's building the house at cost and then we are selling it right away.

The house is 3705 sq feet - 519 sq ft of that is the garage though.

It's officially my first I'll be even more excited when FI and I build a house together - one that we will actually live in some day.

Thanks. It will not be all brick though....just the foundation will be brick. The house will look like the one next door - some type of wooden siding.

A builder who just finished the same house as a spec home has it on the market for $549,000. We were not planning to ask for $549K since it is costing well under that to build but if this guy sells his for $549K we will ask for that too.

girl u must be so excited.

me and fh just went to the architect last week to finalize house plans. I am so so exccited. I cant wait for them to start building our home.

Hey ladies,

It was a very productive trip to VA this past weekend. We got back in to NY early on Tuesday morning.

The roof is done, windows are in and siding is being put up this week and then they start on the interior. Interestingly enough, there was a sliding glass door where there should have been a window or so I thought. They are putting a deck on the back of the house. It's a requirement for homes built in Ford's Colony. I had no idea and don't recall seeing that in the plans. Oh well, so long as it does not take us over budget, I don't care.

I hope to sell it well before the closing date 9/11/05. It's already listed for sale
