Re: Winter Brides!

I got closed toe shoes from nine west. Very comfortable and nice looking, in my opinion.

Re: Winter Brides- question about shoes???

I saw a ton of closed toe options at DSW in Lake Grove (by Michael's on MIddle Country rd)

Also, a lot of girls on here seem to use craft shoes in Commack on Jericho - they'll probably have a selection too.

Re: Winter Brides- question about shoes???

I got my closed-toe shoes at DSW. They aren't "wedding shoes" though. I just got a nice pair of white silk shoes. Mine were $12.99 on the clearance rack.

ETA: When are your fittings? How are you doing this without shoes? Time is flying!!!

Re: Winter Brides- question about shoes???

I loved my shoes. I got them online. I know you don't want to do that but I ordered them early enough to try on and return if I didn't like them. Just a thought. Here's the info anyway.
They were Grace shoes and the shoe was called Tessa. It is a pointed closed toe shoe.

It has a 3 1/2 high heel and it had a laced ribbon with rhinestone grommets on the back.
Very sexy, and classy. I wore them all night, I didn't miss a dance and I never complained.
They were really comfortable even with the high heel.
I can't remember the site but I paid only $98. Try asking google. There's a similar shoe made by Stuart Weissman but the ribbon has a bow in the back. Mine was a neat finish. Check it out.
(I wish I could attach a pic to you, but I don't know how)

Neenie - go to Estelle's in Farmingdale. They have the biggest formal shoe department I've ever seen, I'm sure you'll find something there!

Re: Winter Brides- question about shoes???

Just a word of caution to the ladies considering the shoes that tie with ribbons at the ankle...

They are beautiful. I have a pair in black, and I always get compliments on them, BUT they come with challenges. they are difficult to tie just right. You have to make them tight enough to support your ankle, or else you will feel wobbly. And the ribbon knot will get looser the more you walk, which will require you to tighten them again. In real life, that's no big deal, but when you are in wedding mode and are the center of attention, you may not want to have to leave the room to get someone to go under your dress and tighten your shoes.

They are stunning shoes, but they're probably not the best bet if you want to dance a lot.

JMO.
