Let's post foods that are diet-friendly and have been working for us!

I'm doing South Beach and I'm always looking for new ideas so I don't get bored(or hungry) and cheat!!

I've been making "hot salads" for dinner lately - I'll stir-fry (with Pam, no oil) - chicken, cashew nuts, garlic, broccoli in ginger soy sauce or chinese miso dressing and then put the whole thing on a whole salad - love it!!

I just microwaved frozen veggies and threw some feta cheese in it - so good!!

Anyone else?

The Nabisco 100 calorie packs! They're great to snack on if you're hungry and they're only 2 pts on Weight Watchers....

Re: Let's post foods that are diet-friendly and have been working for us!

Maybe not Southbeach friendly, but definately WW friendly.....!

1. Baked tortilla chips with salsa.....about 20 chips with salsa is only 2 points!!

2. Fresh fruit

3. Light popcorn (I even buy the snack size bag so I am not overdoing it).

4. Granola Bars

5. Turkey & 3 Bean Chili!! This has become my favorite!! Awesome & easy recipe!

Use an 8qt. (large pot) for this, or 1/2 the recipe if you want!!

2 lbs. 99% fat free ground turkey (Shadybrook Farms)
2 cans red kidney beans
2 cans pinto beans
2 cans black beans
1 onion chopped
1 pepper chopped
1 can diced tomatoes (i used the salt free)
2 packets of chili seasoning

Sautee meat & veggies. Drain beans, add to pot. Add tomatoes with juice. Add chili seasoning & 2 1/2 cups water. Simmer for 1/2 hour. SO EASY!! Enjoy!!

I love baked potatoes with low fat sour cream and salsa.

Tuna and pasta

Spinach with white clam sauce over spaghetti.

Cottage cheese with salt and pepper on toast, rice cakes or wheat crisp things.

I try to eat six small meals a day instead of three big ones - this way you're eating every 2 - 3 hours and you never really have time to get starving hungry!

Baked Sweet Potatoes - filling and taste like a treat! 1/2 one with a protein rich dinner and I get my "carb craving" in with a healthy option.

Sorry, I haven't been on the Slim down board for a while...probably b/c I am in denial about starting up with WW again, BUT, I started yesterday and was good and worked out...and I saw that the 100 cal packs now have Chex Mix, I bought a box.

A good beakfast option is 2 Special K 99% fat free waffles w/ light syrup...3 points! No butter though...:(

I love making oven roasted veggies and using them in a variety of ways. Not all are South Beach friendly, but here are some ideas.

Veggies, hummus and fetaor goat cheese in a whole wheat tortilla.

Veggies over brown rice or salad

veggie quesadilla

veggies w/ Black beans and brown rice

veggies and whole wheat pasta

veggies in a low carb whole wheat pita

I'm not on south beach..but lately this has worked for me...

yogurt with granola

fresh fruit

salad with raisins and sliced almonds!!!mmm

Zone bars....replace a fast lunch with them...Carb counters beware there are 23 g..but 13g of protein...like 200 calories...much better tasting then other bars!
