Engagement party for 72 year old?

My mom just showed me an invitation for her 72-year old cousin's engagement party. The invitation was all fancy like a wedding invitation and the party itself looks like it will be wedding-ish?
My parents think it is innappropriate. They should have a low-key wedding.
She was married and divorced.
What do you girls think?

She should have her fun - at her age, she has earned the right to do whatever. Sounds like she is enjoying herself!

it's a little strange to hear about a 72 year old bride, but I do agree with bunny on this!
