How many...

...different vendors did you meet with for each "category?"

Like how many photographers? florists? djs? etc.

For photographers, I met with Duet, Patken and Daniel Krieger. We loved Dan right away and were extremely impressed with his talent and prices, so we booked him on the spot.

For DJ, I only saw Tommy's Tunes, but I knew in advance that there wasn't anyone else I wanted.

For the hall, we went to Chateau La Mer, John Anthony's and Villa Lombardi's. FH wanted Villa's from the get-go.

Believe it or not, I'm having the most trouble with video. I've been to alot of their websites and am trying to find some that fit in my budget first, before I make appointments.

Im easy...Hall only saw 3..the third was my decision. Photography, Duet and booked before we left.
Thats as far as I got. I get convinced quickly

leigh, have you looked into norht shore video? I met with mike at a bridal show and we're going in to see more of his work next week. He seemed like SUCHa nice guy, really willing to work with you on price, etc. His packages were $1500 and $1800, and he said you cna tka eout and add to the packages t fit your budget and if you have a date hats easier for him to do (I don't know what that means...maybe if it's off season?) then it may be less. i'd check it out. he's an LIW vendor

I looked at 2 halls North Ritz Club and Riviera. i loved NRC on the spot, but the inital price they gave me was too high, then I went back and they worked with me on the price, so it was great!

I have appointments with 3 DJ's so far, variety, bravura, and i think escapade? And I'm also going to make an appointment with high voltage, who, based on LIW reviews is the one I think I will book.

Photo is going to be the hardest I'm probbaly going to look at 10 at least before I decide. I am realy SO picky.

Video- I have a really good feeling about one videographer, but I want to look at one or two more to compare

I wouldn't look at to many vendors from each category. A friend of mine recommended to check out no more than 3 maybe 4. after that, they all seem the same and you'll drive yourself nuts trying to make a decision

Westbury Manor,Leonards,Crest Hollow,Villa Lombardis, Watermill,Jericho Terrace,Giorgios,North Ritz Club,Milleridge Inn,Terrace on the park,Douglaston Manor and of course Fox hollow im sure there are more i just forget right now.

one dj so far

and one photographer 12th night which is the only vendor besides the hall i booked so far, i have a ways to go......

Thanks for the tip Mary! I only have like $1,500 budgeted for video and I don't want something that looks cheap, you know? I am having alot of trouble with this!

We drove around looking at halls and then made appts. for the one we really liked. There were some other I called that I didn't drive by but they were already booked. The DJ and Florist were recommended to me. I actually went to a wedding where my DJ was and he was amazing. The photographer was recommended by my MOH and ofcourse all the LIW girls!

i think i'm the only bride who went to one hall, smcc, we would've booked on the spot, if we had $$ or a check.

Well the reason I ask is b/c I can be indecisive, sometimes too much! I have met with 2 Photographers, and I am 95% sure I want to use one of them. The only reason I hesitate is what if there is a "better" one out there?
