Table idea - please give me your opinions!!

HI girls and some guys

I was considering name my tables a color rather then a number. And what ever the color of the table is, I was going to have the linens, flowers and candles (whichever I end up going with) be that color

ie: Pink table will have pink linens, flowers, candles, etc.

I could even color coordinate the menus and favors to match. To you think this will be too much or is it a neat idea?

Also, my 'theme' will be butterflies, so multiple colors should be ok I think.

hm.......I really like the idea....but I'm wondering if its going to be too much work. Like maybe picking only a couple of pastel colors because at least you know that none of them will contrast with one another...and you can name the tables different shades of pinks, yellows, etc. Just an idea.....What would you do about centerpieces?

That's a good idea also.

I haven't decided if I'm going to do flowers or candles and I'm still not sure who's paying for the wedding!!! lol If I'm paying for it, then candles. If pop pays for it, then flowers and candles or just flowers. Depends on the budget

Depending on where you have your wedding, the selection of table linens might be limited by what catering hall you use. You might have to bring in your own, which means an added cost .

It sounds like a great idea and definitely different and beautiful. You'll just have to work out the 'logistics' of it all - like divabride said, not all catering halls have sucha great variety and bringing in your own will definitely be pricey.

Ugh - see that's why it's good to have people to bounce ideas off of... very good point also. But, I guess then if the linens are white, then the other colors would be ok then, right?

That does sound like it would be pretty. It might be a lot of added work. Are you up for that?

Depending on how big your room is and what it looks like, 10-20 tables in all different colors may be overwhelming and look 'busy.' I'd suggest picking a color theme - using a few complimenting colors. Or like you mentioned keep the linens white or ivory and have different colored flowers on the tables - but then I'd still use complimenting colors and not that many of them.

Sounds very pretty for a spring/summer wedding. I just don't know if you want to have to worry about all that work.

Yup, this would actually lool really nice! Kepp the linens and table white, then build on it. Pink candles, flowers, beads, etc. whatever you need to make each table its own 'magical' color. I really like the idea!

Well, the way I see it... I have between 4-5 months to put the ideas together and I have family and friends who could help me. Maybe what I'll do is go to Fantasyland and try to stage a couple of mock settings there to see how it works. Not that it'll resemble the actual room, but at least give me a little more ideas.

i love it - i have seen it done at a reception where there were nly 5 or 6 tables, so everything coordinated nicely.

how many tables do you have?

If everyone shows up - 12 tables at 10 to a table... but I'm thinking only 70-80 will make it.

I can't wait play with this idea now!!!
