Please give advise about vendor on this board Updated at bottom
Hi ladies i need help. I met with Flower michelle amoung many other florists, but I really loved John and his ideas were great. My problem is that my fh did not get to go with me so I wanted a breakdown of how much everything cost this way we could go over it at home together. Each florist i have met with has sent this to me. So 2 weeks ago I called john and asked him if he wouldnt mind doing this and he said no problem i would have it by 8pm that night. Well two weeks went by and I never heard from him. So yesterday morning i called again and asked him about it and he said he would call me about 5:30. Well he never called. I dont know what to do. Do i call again?? I really liked him but this is a little strange. What if I booked him and needed him to get back to me and he never does?? Please tell me what you think??

That is not like him, he was great with us. Maybe since he only does weddings, he's probably very busy on the weekend.I would even send him a reminder email, Everyone has had great things to say about him, I'm sure this is just an exception.

Me too! I mean, I understand being busy and all, but it's been over 2 weeks and you HAVE given him follow-up calls. I would be concerned as well. Good luck!

If I was on the fence between him and someone else, that would definately make me go for the other florist... it would make me feel like my business isnt important to him.

If he is not going to answer your calls now and be reliable, would make me uneasy when the wedding came....IMHO, I would look elsewhere...

Send him an email. He was great at responding to emails. As someone who used him I had zero problems the day of the wedding, and he went above and beyond my expectations.

Thanks everyone. I am very leert about this now b/c I would like to depend on my florist for the day of my wedding. I really did like him so I will try one more time. If nothing happens I think its fair to give up, Thanks!

I've been in that situation - not a board vendor - but I gave up calling after a few times (plus several e-mails).If you really like him though, I'd try again. Everyone has an off period. I probably will try the vendor again that I tried to reach before w/o getting a response.

I just checked my mail and john wrote me. I am very happy because i really did like him and I was just a little nervous about this mis-communication.

Personally, I wouldn't use this vendor. What was his excuse for basically ignoring you? Plus, who's to say that it won't happen again...maybe on your wedding day? It's just that there are a ton of florists out there, there is no reason to settle. Not to mention all the money you will be paying a florist, I would have probably gone somewhere else, but I hope that it all works out for you!

Keep looking! If you don't find anyone else then call him back but I would make him your last resort.

I had this happen with a photographer I was trying to make an appointment with after three phone calls with promises that they would call me back, I stopped calling. Why should I? There are a million photographers out there and if this one can't pick up the phone and call me back for my appointment then clearly they don't need my business.

From someone with experience with John from Flower Michele and from all of the brides that have used him (one I know personally) he is AMAZING and I would definitely cut him some slack. I never had a problem with him returning a phone call or an e-mail. He is a very popular florist so he is constantly busy on weekends. Call him during the week- you might actually be better off e-mailing so that he can sit and type it up right then and there (he keeps everything on his laptop.) I received a breakdown from him the same day I met with him. I definitely would not write John off just yet- He does amazing work and is definitely worth giving a chance.
