Repost from '05... rehersal dinner suggestions...
Right, so, FMIL wants to have RD at a seafood resturaunt, but FFIL hates seafood.FFIL wants to have it at a steak place. FMIL won't eat steak (and will not listen to the fact that they do serve chicken at steak places )
I suggested Pasta Pasta... but of course, FFIL doesn't really like Italian food.
I then suggested the Old Street Pub in smithtown, but according to them it's too far from the Meadow Club.
So, does anyone have any suggestions for a nice American style resturaunt out in the Pt. Jeff/East Setauket area that's not too expensive- prefrebly with a seperate room.
I will seriously owe you big time if you can help me out with this. TIA.

I don't Deb (sorry, live in Brooklyn) but just wanted to say that I hope you find a place that pleases all, especially your FIL's since they have recently decided to 'host'...Wishing you as stress free RD!

If you could convince your family to go to Smithtown go to La Famiglia! We had our Rd there and it was AWESOME!!!Isn't there a new Pace's steakhouse in Port Jeff? They have other food besides steaks there.

yea - i know a bunch of places in Smithtown since i grew up there - but they keeps saying it's too far...
We also tried to reason w/ fmil that there are non-steak things at steak places, but she apparently doesn't want to listen to it.
I'm pretty flexible - as is my family (well, except maybe my little sister - who may or may not be on a vegetarian kick come august - but she'll have to deal) - I'm just trying to find some place that they'll both agree on since they're both paying (they're divorced). But they're not making it easy
thanks for the help!
