Wedding Night Accommodations for Bridal Party

Is it customary for the bride & groom to pay for their attendants' hotel accomodations on the wedding night? Or do they pay for themselves?

I have never heard of that. FH and I are only paying for our hotel room.

I have always paid for myself. - I've never heard of the Bride and Groom paying.......
I guess it's a nice gesture if you have the extra $$$.....but NOT at all expected !

We aren't paying for the hotel room. But we got very discounted rooms since my FH works for a hotel mgmt company.

Definitely not! FH was best man in a wedding and the wedding was at Cornell University up in Ithaca. Even then the bride and groom didn't pay for our accommodations.

According to Emily Post's book entitled the 'Wedding Planner' it says that the bride should cover the bridal party's lodging. But honestly, i've never heard of anyone following this.

I just blocked the rooms I am not paying for them. I could see paying for them if you didnt get them anyother gift, but they cant expect you too.

Since I wanted to spnd the night before the wedding at the hotel, since I didn't want to worry about driving in the morning, so I paid for 2 joining rooms for me and my BM. They were on their own for the night of the wedding.

I dont think its our responsibility but I don't know what to do about out of town friends in the bridal party. They have to stay at a hotel so do we find them a hotel or is it up to them? I feel bad they are already spending so much money on our wedding but by then we really won't have the money either.
