A flush album: the picture (usually 10x10) takes up the entire page. The picture IS the page!

A reversibe/mounted/matted album: The album could be smaller...But the pictures are mounted on the pages...They can have borders...This allows for more pictures to be on a page and not so many giant sized close-up's and stuff like that...

Yes, & the reversible part means you can have vertical or horizontal pictures.
