Time Out: Pretentious and Overdone or Smart and Sometimes Fun?

Well, not really sure about Time Out New York anymore, but I was totally over it when I had to read it every week (I work in press, it's my job to read magazines

) but I'm reading Time OUt London right now and I've actually laughed out loud at a few things that were actually kind of clever.

What do you think?

In this one they have a little column called Overheard Underground - it runs across the bottom of the page, you would miss it if you blinked. But, it's just literally things the reporter has overheard in the subway and for some reason it cracked me up today. Some examples:

Somebody needs to tell Queen that Freddy Mercury is dead.

She is not my identical twin. I'm male and she's female--we can't be identical.

And my personal favorite...

This is where Thomas the Tank Engine comes to die!

Not to mention the interview with Julian Cope who claims that 'We all have an inner moron'

I guess some are just a little closer to the surface than others
