What was the best shower gift you recieved??

I have about 4 showers coming up in the next few months and would love to get some ideas!!
I always like to buy some stuff from the registry and some stuff as a suprise!

Honestly, anything that was on my registry unless it was lingerie. I did not like it when someone bought me a vase or platter and I did not register for it.

My favorite item from my registry was my espresso/coffee maker. My favorite item not from my registry was my basket of candles and a scrapbook that a friend made me.

THe best shower gift I got that was not on my registry are some vera bradley bags. A duffel, tote, and makeup bag.

My favorite wedding gift, not shower gift, was a gift certificate to use on www.bedandbreakfast.com. I am planning a little romantic getaway as we speak.

I didn't have a shower, but did get gifts at an E-party. Being pretty practical, I would say anything on the registry or money. The few gifts I really loved that weren't on the registry were a lenox nativity, a waterford crystal picture frame and a mantle clock. I would say if you are going to give something not on the registry, include the gift receipt- not everyone has the same taste.

The gift I received from my 6 year old niece. She made a little spa bag for me. It had a rubber piece of soap from one of her toys. Tissue to use along with the soap. A piece of gum to chew while I am relaxing. And a quarter in case there was anything that she forgot to include in the bag!

Yeah, I know pretty corny. But that was really the gift that I loved most of all.

I agree for the most part. Though I did receive some GORGEOUS crystal candle holders with candles from one of DHs cousins. But most of the other non-registry stuff I HATED and now I can't even get rid of it b/c I have no idea where it came from.

You know what i got from my sisterinlaw that was cool. it was a sterling silver oblong plate that came with an engravable pen. I'm using it for my rehersal dinner as a guest book sign in!
