SO I am a little upset but i will get over it lol!!

after talking to my fh last night i explained to him that i did not know if my parents were going to pay for my dress or not .
and decided that if i have to pay for my dress there is no way i can save for it now so it will be taken out of our wedding account since it is a wedding thing that is needed.
and we will negate the chair covers & trumpets that i really really want and maybe all the extra things i want too..

im not going to lie i am really upset that i cant have everything that i want(i know i sound like a brat but i know you girls know what i mean for me this is a once in a lifetime thing and i want it to be perfect)

but hey it's compromising . the dress i love is alot of money and he didnt say anything about the price (which he is very very anal when it comes to budgeting ) but he knows how much i love this dress so he didnt not say a word..

i have also looked at less expensive dresses but i just keep thinking about this one dress and i love it and i know you girls know how it feels to love a dress..

so we will see what happens

I hope all works out for you with your dress...Don't worry about the chair covers & the trumpets...What matters is that you are wearing something that is comfortable & makes you feel special on this wonderful day!

The chair covers are great, but IMO once you walk in & see them, people forget about them! Remember the necessities & as long as you don't go overboard with the extras. you can stay on budget!

YEAH you are right . the little thing really don't matter . but what kills me is the hall we are paying so much for the hall because we had to add all extra food cause his fam is really italian and he mom wanted ever type of fish possible there .. I DO NOT EAT FISH!!!! LOL
if we did not have to add all that extra food i would be fine

ohhh trust me I know the feeling...My FH HAD TO HAVE the full viennese hour (it only added 5$ per person) but that is $800 that I could have used on our HM....I can relate completely with that....I have realized though watching my brother plan his wedding 2 yrs ago, the small things that they did went unrecognized, so I concluded, SAVE MY MONEY!

My dress happened to be less expensive then I thought, but it makes me feel so special & really reflects me...So remember, no matter how much the dress is, if you feel special in it, the it is the ONE!

Trumpets add a nice touch...My brother had them...Maybe you can get them but not the chair covers...

Ahhh I know how you feel and I really hope your parents come through. I know alot of parents dont have it to give and some do and just don't but no one knows your parents like you would so hopefully it will turn out to be a nice surprise when you need it the most. Now can you afford to just put the deposit down and maybe by the time it comes in your parents generosity might come through, this way you don't have to pull too much out of your budget?(You don't have to answer that it's more for you to ask yourself)

Go for the dress. How many pictures will you have to look back on in 10 years of the trumpeters or chair covers? About 3 And how many of you in your dream dress?? Like 400!!

Besides, I went to a wedding last year and the chair covers were beautiful but EVERYONE complained about them. They fit the chairs too perfectly that you couldnt tuck your feet underneath without kicking the things becasue they were so tight...very annoying!

The ones at this wedding were very annoying...it was the Floral Terrace (for anyone interested) but the ones at the WOTY last week were fine. I guess it depends on the place.

I still say go for the gown...it is your day to be the star, do it up!

I hope it all works out for you! I agree with everyone that people will not remember the little things. Maybe you could find a less expensive trumpet player (check www.newyork.craigslist.org) or negotiate with the hall for the chair covers.

Also try netbride.com, houseofbrides.com, or pearlsplace.com to see if they carry your dress for less.

Girl dont worry about it. You will be fine. All will turn out well. My FH is a tight budgeter too. I havent told him how much my dress is but he told me to get whatever makes me happy. U can make it happen.

We have to pay for it all ourselves but i can't get married in anything but this gown so I am just going to get a 3rd job or something, lol!

You should try to get the dress online, if you know the maker and style of the dress. Apparently you can save a ton of money. Have the alterations done at the bridal salon where you are getting your bridesmaids gowns. It's worth a try to search online
