I hate office stalkers!

Why oh why must people come to my desk...see that I am obviously on a phone call and stand there and stare? Why? What's the point? How about calling? E-mailing? Why would you stand there and stare at me? I told one girl I am on the phone and it's going to be a few minutes and she got mad! I sit in a cube but my bosses sit in offices with glass windows..and they always have people peeking in the windows and staring...if they are on the phone or in a meeting - they just stare! My biggest pet peeve is office stalkers and those who 'pop in' without calling or emailing or making an appt.

we must work in the same office. we have the 'creepers' who just stare at you and try to read whats on your computer screen. drives me nuts. they don't need to know what i am typing or who i am talking to. oy, its frusrtating

wow! those people are so rude. I cant stand it when people look over my shoulder when i am doing things, especially at work they do the same thing.

My boss does this. She stands at my cube while I am ON THE PHONE!!!!!!!!!!! I turn my swivel chair around so that my back faces her when she is standing there. I also have a sign up on my computer that says 'LUNCH' and she will come over and talk to me about work stuff and say 'I know you're on lunch but...........' OMG. I hate that.

I hate that. My boss does it all the time. I was on the phone with DH (which I NEVER am) and he just comes by and stands next to me. HELLO... come back later! SO I had to get off the phone abruptly just for him to ask me to print something, that could have waited. All of the people here do that. Just come by when a phonecall would suffice.

At my old job we (IT dept) worked in a room with glass windows, it was off the data processing dept. And people would be in there talking to the data people and would come over and just stare into our room. Sooooo freakin annoying. So we printed out a bunch of fish and bubbles and taped them to the window, since it was like we were in a fish tank. The pres made us take them down... party pooper. It was just so rude.

Oh yeah lunch is another thing...get this: my friend and I were eating in a side office that is empty...but has a glass door. It's about 10 ft from my cube. Since I am in HR people come by all day...but I was eating. This guy actually had the b**ls to come by, knock on the door and say 'oh I know you're eating but can you tell me blah blah blah?' Can you believe that!

Same here! I usually eat at my desk so I can play games and talk on here, or knit. But people would SEE ME eating and ask me to do stuff. Or they would transfer a call and ask 'Are you at lunch?' 'Yes' 'Well can you take it anyway?' GRRRRR So I've started closing my door and locking it and forwarding my calls to voicemail.
I do the chair swivel too.

oh forgot to add....I went to the coffee room to get some water and while I was there, I had 3 different people bombard me with questions. This also happens as I am coming out of the bathroom stall, in the elevator at night as I am running out to catch a train...one lady said to me (and this is with my coat, hat, scarf, bag on) 'Do you have a minute to look at my insurance ID Cards? I think I got the wrong one blah blah?' I said 'Um, actually I was going HOME - can we chat in the morning?' She was like...Uh oh..well I guess so. WHAT IS WRONG WITH PEOPLE!!!

We have the same people that lurk...It drives me crazy...especially when they don't know...they just stand there and wait for you to tur around...I purposely dont turn around.

LOL When I was leaving to go home yesterday my boss stopped me to talk about if I had the company life insurance policy or not. And proceeded to give me the prices, explained why he's doing it, blah blah.

I get those too. Mine mostly just stare as they walk by. I'd like to think it's because I am so stunningly gorgeous, but my mirror tells me otherwise all the time.

I totally fee your pain. The biggest offendor here isn't even in my department & haf the time shodln't be bothering me with crap.

my boss does that alot, and becaues seh is my boss, i can't do much about it. We have flex hours, so i work 9-5 & she works 9 30 - 5:30, and while I rarely leave at 5, but when I plan to , she always has to discuss something at oh, about 4:50.
