Question about tuxes.....

Do you think it would be odd if my dad had a cumberbund and everyone else (Groom, GM, RBs) had vests?

I told my dad what FH wanted last night and he said that he might look bad since hes (overweight) with a vest on. FH thinks that my dad doesnt realize that a vest will look fine hes just 'old-school' and only knows about cumberbunds.

But if hes more comfortable with a cumberbund then I want him to wear one....what do you ladies think?

I would let him make the decision. I think it would like fine either way. Maybe when he goes to rent his tux, have him try on both. He might like what he sees!

I think your better off letting your dad make the decision. What ever he feels most comfortable in, ya know. BUT...... I would have him try a vest and cumberbund and give him an honest opinion of what looks best on him.

i think it should be up to him ... he's not 'in' the wedding party with the guys so your dad can look different

I think the dads are the 2 other special men at the wedding (besides the groom of course) and they can be different if they want to be.

Actually, the tux place gave us a lesson on certain looks with overweight people, and they said that a vest is more flattering and trimming. A cumberbund will accentuate the waist. I think you should give him the choice, but have him try them both on and I think he will be surprised.
