Please help me choose a hotel for the night of the wedding

I'm getting married at Jericho Terrace on a Friday and we're not leaving for our HM until Sunday, so we need a hotel for 2 nights, our flight leaves Sunday morning out of JFK...we don't want to spend too much but want a nice, clean place...help me choose please! The price difference between the Garden City and the Marriott's is almost $100 per night.

Re: Please help me choose a hotel for the night of the wedding

Just curious since you are getting married in the area, where are you having OOT guests stay and how much is it to stay there? We're still searching for reasonable hotels in the area

Re: Please help me choose a hotel for the night of the wedding

No OOT guests...my mom and sister are staying at my house, which is why I need a hotel for the night of! If anyone comes from PR or GA (doubtful) they'll stay in a hotel in Manhattan.

I would stay at the Inn at Fox Hollow. That is where I am staying on my wedding night.

Re: Please help me choose a hotel for the night of the wedding

I see lots of votes for Garden City hotel...OK, would you still choose this over the LI Marriott even if it was over $200 more expensive to stay there? Is it worth the extra $$? We want a clean, nice room to sleep in until we leave for Mexico...is the splurge worth it?

Any insight will be gladly accepted!

Re: Please help me choose a hotel for the night of the wedding

We booked a room at the Garden City Hotel. Not the wedding package, but a deluxe room which looks really nice. It was around 250 or so for one night.

Re: Please help me choose a hotel for the night of the wedding

we booked the inn at fox hollow for our wedding night bc it is close to the reception location.

i think it was around 220 for the honeymoon night package..... we also reserved guest rooms for oot guests so i think they gave us a discounted rate.

WE ARE MOST LIKELY GOING THERE. IT IS MORE CLASSY AND I HAVE HEARD GREAT REVIEWS.....EVERYONE THAT I HAVE SPOKE TO SAID THAT THE EXTRA $100.00 YOU SPEND A NIGHT IS WELL WORTH IT.

Thanks ladies...your feedback helped tremendously. We booked the 'honeymoon' package at the Wingate Inn for two nights...I just can't wait for Mexico!

Re: Please help me choose a hotel for the night of the wedding

For your wedding night since your going on a honeymoon I'd stay at the Garden City Hotel even though it's a bit expensive. We probably will have to put our HM off due to limited finances(although FH doesn't want to face it)so Im thinking of spending quite a bit and staying at the Oheka Castle for our wedding night. Our reception is over at 6pm so it leaves plenty of time to enjoy the castle and it's kinda like a mini HM. Unless I hit the Lotto then I think I'd still stay at the Oheka Castle and then fly to Tahiti or Hawaii

Re: Please help me choose a hotel for the night of the wedding

We are staying at the Inn at Fox Hollow. I didn't even consider Garden City hotel as FH stayed there the night of his first wedding and one of my exes family goes there for brunch a lot.

Personally, I liked the rooms at the Inn. They are all suite. The location was better for us as well. We are paying $220 for the bridal suite with champagne, chocolate and breakfast the next morning.

Thanks! Unfortunately, price was a factor because we're spending a lot on our HM - but we got this same package at the Wingate Inn for more than $50 off - it adds up when it's 2 nights, plus they're sending a shuttle to pick me and FH up from JT after the reception - for free. They seemed extremely friendly over the phone and so accomodating (took over $200 off the night rate) - so I'll stay there. My fi liked the LI Marriott best - but I just couldn't see spending the extra money, even if it was $50 - we can use that for the HM!

Thanks so much ladies!
