My poor baby girl
She had her 6 month well visit today. She had 4 shots again
(this was what her face looked like when she was getting her shots). She has been getting 4 shots on her 2 and 4 month visit. Both set of arms and thighs have the round bandaids. Next one will be her 9 month well visit. But she goes back again next week to get her last synergies shot (it prevents RSV). On a happier note, we can try to give her Similac Advance. She has been on Similac Neosure (expensive formula, hence why i'm happy) since we brought her home from the hospital. Crossing my fingers that she will like the new formula and do not get allergic to it.

Re: My poor baby girl
I didn't know they had shots for them not to get RSV??? My son ended up with RSV the day after Thanksgiving. We got to spend the night in the hospital. It was HORRIBLE!!! He was almost 10.5 months old. I wish I knew!

Re: My poor baby girl
My daughter was a preemie and usually preemies are more susceptable to getting RSV. Its a very expensive shot (was told over $800.00/shot and its given 5 times every 28-30days) and its hard to get approval from the insurance company. Her Dr. was surprised that we got approval because she said that some of her patients that were preemies didnt get approved. Hopefully next year she gets the shot again.

Re: My poor baby girl
She was born July 9th. She was born exactly on her 34th week gestation but weighed only 3lbs 1.8 ounces. Thank god, there were no complications after she was born. She now weighs 12 lbs 12 ounces

Wow...you have a strong little girl
Sorry for all the shots, but that is better than RSV, which is a very scary disease.

Re: My poor baby girl
My daughter gets Synegis shot every month. I know what you mean about getting it approved. It took the doctor's office so heavy duty working the insurance company, but thank goodness it was approved. She was born at 29 weeks and so far it is working and she hasn't gotten sick. Have you been using the neosure since she was born? I am still pumping but the doctor said if I were to go to formula then that is what we should use. Sounds like your preemie is doing well and gaining lots of weight (12 pounds
)

Re: My poor baby girl
hi mindy,Yes she is on Neosure. During our visit her Dr. told us we can change her formula to Similac Advance. Well that was music to our ears because Neosure is too expensive. Its $14.49/can
and she uses at least 2.5 cans a week. I have a cousin that works in a pediatricians office, now at least I can get some formula samples from her. Yup 12lbs, my little porker
So how much does she weigh know. When she was still in the hospital, wasn't it exciting to hear every morning or during our nightly calls that she has gained another 1 ounce or more.
