DIY invitation kits
I was looking at the do it yourself invitations kits, and my question is, most wedding invitations have an outer and inner envelope. Well the do it yourself ones only come with 1 envelope, if your are doing the invitations yourself, are you just going to use 1 envelope or are you going to buy more??

Re: DIY invitation kits
I know what you mean. I will be going with just an outside since that's all that came with it. I'm trying to save $ so I'm not going to buy extras, but I'm sure you could if you want.

Re: DIY invitation kits
Inner envelopes are not really needed in today's world. They were used back in the day as a way to protect the invite from wear and damage since carriers had to hand deliver them and travel miles to do so...don't worry! I just received an invite for an April wedding with no inner envelope - not a big deal.

Re: DIY invitation kits
I bought mine at JoAnns (same ones they seel at staples and Michaels) I think they are made my Gartner? Anyway, mine came with the invite, en, response card, and response envelope. To make them a little more fancy, I am adding the vellum to the top and printing our monogram on it. Not sure how I am attaching it yet. I am also going to add some vellum to the outer envelope as a lining. It did save me money- the invite package, for 50 a box, bought two, cost me 40. The vellum I want may cost like 40-50 more. So, for 100 bucks I am getting invites that would have cost me 400-500 elseware. But, I am sure the printing may take a while... (Yawn..................)
