Engagement party gift?

I didnt have one so I didnt know how to answer this question. My sister's long term boyfriend's sister got engaged a month ago and the engagement party is at the end of the month at a Veteran's hall or something. What type of gift does she give? Cash? Or something from the registry? How much should she spend?

You can do either. Money is always appreciated, but a gift from the registry is always useful. For an engagement gift, I usually spend between $50-$100 depending on how close I am to the couple. Hope this helps!!

for an engagement gift you can give anything. for ours, we got gifts ranging from $5 to $1000! it all depended on the giver and what the felt they wanted to give.

Personally though, I usually will pick a gift off their registry or, in my case, with my sister, i got her something that i knew she really wanted but didn't register for

We got money from a lot of people, some stuff off our registry and also some other things that people thought we might like. Wine glasses, lenox and such.

We got money and gifts from our registry and some other gifts not on our registry - but all cool stuff. Mostly $20 to $500 range.

Every engagement party we have gone to we have given cash. Most couples REALLY need it to help with the wedding and alot of times the couple isnt even registered yet.
