Soon to be mother-in-law problems
We have 4 months to go and we still dont have a final invite list. i am going nuts. my fiance's family is from DR and the parents dont speak english, so i have to do everything through him. And he is useless. All i want is a list of names and Addresses so i can send out my invitations and save the date cards. Now we have been fighting for 2 days and im so upset. Any suggestions???

Re: Soon to be mother-in-law problems
Can you ask him gently to get the list for you? Why doesn't he want to do it?
Sounds like a frustrating situation, I'm sorry

Re: Soon to be mother-in-law problems
I had this exact problem and this is what we finally worked out. FI gave his parents 25 blank invites (no addresses, no stamps) and told them it is two people per invitation, no kids. They are responsible for sending out the invites and MUST get me a list of who is coming in time for me to give the final number to the hall and do the place cards. I am not expecting to get response cards back from this set of people either, so FILs have promised that if they say XX people are coming and some don't, then they will pay us back for any empty seats that are not filled. I don't even think I will get all the names of who is coming in time for the place cards, but then they just don't get one. And on the seating chart it will say FIL guest 1, FIL guest 2 so we know we have seats set aside for them. I know that is kind of awful, but I have stressed out about this WAY too much and this is the only solution. To be honest, it ended up making my life easier - less money spent on addressing envelopes and buying stamps!
I know how frustrated you must be. It will work out though!!! Good luck!

The only advice I have is don't bother with the STD's. You are so close to your wedding that it doesn't make sense to do it.

Re: Soon to be mother-in-law problems
I can't get the final list from my parents---and they both speak English!
I just keep nagging them, but it doesn't work. I may just end up doing the envelope thing!
