Craig's plan for Valentine's Day - not what I thought!
So my darling, wonderful, thoughful, romantic husband has big plans for Monday night . . .He scheduled Golem's neutering appointment for VALENTINE'S DAY!!!!!!
I am a little upset about this - I mean, not ONLY is my little boy going to be GONE overnight for the first time ever - but on Valentine's Day too!! I'm going to come home to an empty house with no happy Golem waiting in his crate with puppy kisses for me, and I'm going to cry as soon as I walk through the front door - I just know it!! He will be 6 months old next week, so the timing is good, but on Valentine's Day? I feel really guilty and a little sad that Mommy and Daddy will get to spend some nice quality time together, but my little puppy will be alone, healing from his surgery, in a strange place overnight....I want to CRY!!
Craig said he thought it would be nice for us to be alone, and I see where he's coming from - since I've turned into Super Puppy Mommy ever since we brought Golem home, and DH has kind of been second after Golem sometimes
The down time alone with my husband on a romantic holiday will be very nice, and I am looking forward to it.....but I still can't help but feel really bad for Golem at the same time.....
Craig hardly seems bothered at all - he keeps saying Golem will be fine and I shouldn't worry - but I can't help it, I'm such a MOM!!!!
I just keep seeing my little Golem whimpering in pain, alone, in a dark and lonely kennel with no sign of Mommy or Daddy.... Oh man, this is really upsetting!!!The good news is that we can bring Golem home the next morning, and he won't have to wear the sonic collar either since the stitches are on the inside. I'm going to miss him so much, and it's only overnight. I'm a mess - Craig better make this up to me on Valentine's Day with a REALLY BIG box of chocolate and some serious pampering!! Just needed to vent - I feel like a bad parent right now and just need some reassuring!!
thanks for listening!!!

They sleep the WHOLE night! He'll be fine and with other puppies and doggies and he'll wake up and you guys'll be right there to take him home! Don't feel guilty having a quiet night w/ hubby w/o Golem. He'll be in la-la land sleeping and dreaming peacefully!

Re: Craig's plan for Valentine's Day - not what I thought!
thanks!!! Everyone is telling me the same thing - that he'll be sleeping the whole time - I'm just trying to deal with the fact that this will be his first time away from home overnight, without us too!On a lighter note, I've been dropping SERIOUS hints that Craig better do everything he possibly can to spoil me so I'm not upset about the puppy
He doesn't get home until 9 on Monday, so I'm going to use the time to make a really special dinner and dessert. I still need to get him a present too!

Yes! We had our cats fixed in December and they slept so much and were so groggy. Don't worry, he won't even know what is going on until he is home with you!

First let me say that I hope Golem's surgery goes well.
Second, that you and Craig have a wonderful V-day. Third, that is could be worse - I knew a woman who's husband scheduled an appointment to purchase cemetary plots on V-day.

Hey,I know how you feel but enjoy the night alone with Craig!
My baby just had her operation last week. I was soooooooooooooooo worried.
She didn't miss a beat. She was as crazy, playful, egotistical and adorable as ever as soon as we picked her up.
Your baby will be fine! You'll see!
enjoy the alone time!
