My little baby is so sick he wont even eat chocolate ice cream!

My son Gabe in my avatar is 3. He was just diagnosed with pneumonia again and is on a nebulizer every 4 hours... He is so sick, running fevers :( Hes drinking fine.. I just wish he would eat something. I offered him ice cream kinda to see how sick he really is and he barely touched it :( Now I know he is super sick :( I feel so bad... Were supposed to go to Florida on Friday and hes a ringbearer in a wedding Saturday.. Does anyone think theres a chance he might be better by then?
I have another appointment on Monday.
BTW - they think he may have asthma too. Theyre going to watch it.. Oh and a tick.. (He constantly blinks) :(

I hope he gets better soon. I really don't know if he'll be better by next week, but I hope he will be

Aww, I hope he feels better soon. Just keep pumping the fluids in and ask him if their is anything special he would like to eat, maybe McDonalds or anything he might want. I hope he's better by Friday!!

Thats what Ive been doing, fast food, bagels etc.. Hell pick a teeny bit, bu thats it for now... He just doesnt understand he should rest.. he runs around and then plops of exhaustion. I cant get him to sit still...I wish I knew of someone who would watch our kids when theyre sick. Believe me the place I want to be when my child is sick is home, but my job will not allow it until I have tenure... Rediculous I know!

he should stay away from milk products...the milk causes more phlegm. LOTS of fluids, vitamin C, warm soup if he'll eat it.

I don't know if your doc is going o recommedn flying by Friday, all that mucous can cause a nasty ear infection and it could be painful for him on the plane. Pneumonia usually takes 7-10 for a turn around (feeling much better), kids are sometimes faster because they are just so resilient. I agree with btrflygrl, no dairy. Keep it to: clear fluids, get the pedialyte ice pops, jello, soup, toast, Sunny Delight (work better than OJ), lots of warm baths with the vapor wash in it (this will keep all the fluids moving in his chest rather than sitting and causing more infection). I hope he feels better soon, I hate when the kids are sick, you feel immobilized. to you and your little guy!!!
