Can I do a hair trial without a headpiece???

Hi,

I am getting married in July 2006 and I haven't started looking at dresses or headpieces yet BUT it seems that vendors are booking up for appointments in 2006 already . Can I do a hair trial without a headpiece....I want a down style..maybe like Jessica Simpson's wedding hair.
